The area around the Sagrada Familia comprises one of the wealthier parts of Barcelona’s vast and thriving Eixample neighborhood.  Besides the legendary Basilica located just steps from your door, you’ll find many other examples of the same Catalan Modernism movement nearby.  Take a walk down the Avinguda Gaudí, which connects the Sagrada Familia with the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, designed by one of Gaudí’s Modernista colleagues.  Along the way you’ll see dozens of welcoming cafes, boutiques and restaurants, and the semi-pedestrianized street is itself a public meeting place. 

In the direct vicitinity of the Sagrada Familia you’ll find a wide range of cafes and bars, and the streets surrounding the Avinguda Gaudí are equally saturated with quality nightlife hotspots.

Just steps from your apartment, you’ll have easy access to two metro lines leading directly to the Old Town and to quieter outlying neighborhoods, though you can also reach most other central neighborhoods on foot.
