The Plaza Catalunya is known as the centre of Barcelona and is the point at which the Borne and Eixample districts meet. It's also the meeting place of several major streets, such as the Passeig de Gracia and Las Ramblas. If you enjoy shopping, you're in the right place. You'll find the famous Spanish department store El Corte Ingles here, as well as a variety of stores on Las Ramblas and high end boutiques on the Passeig de Gracia. The Passeig is also home to lots of beautiful Art Nouveau houses which are typical of the Barcelona style. For restaurants and bars, you'll find a wealth of them on Las Ramblas, where you can also enjoy street performances and a wonderful atmosphere.
