Barcelona’s thriving Eixample neighborhood is the modern and cleanly planned answer to the medieval labyrinth of streets that make up the Old Town Proper. Still near all central city sites, the neighborhood around the Sagrada Familia is a thriving and fascinating mix of old and new, and is one of the best locations for scouting masterpieces of Catalan Modernist architecture. Leading from the iconic Sagrada Familia is the Avinguda Gaudí, which leads past tree-shaded cafes and under modernisa street lamps to another must-see example of unique architecture, the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. A short walk in the other direction will bring you to the old town of Gràcia, which is famous today for its resident art community and bohemian vibe.
Directly around your apartment and the Sagrada Familia square is a high concentration of cafes and bars to accommodate the thousands of daily visitors clocking to the area. You’ll also find plenty of nightlife options in the side streets around the Avinguda Gaudí, and Gràcia is packed with charming cafes that stay open late for a unique nightlife experience.
This surprisingly affordable apartment is located in the heart of Barcelona, and most central neighborhoods are within walking distance. Two metro lines are also just steps away, granting easy access to the Old Town Center, as well as the far reaches of the city.
