The apartment is just steps away from the Plaza de Calalunya, a large square that serves as the meeting place for the old Gothic part of the city and the 19th century Eixample districts meet. It's also the meeting point for many major streets, such as the Passeig de Gracia and Las Ramblas, giving you the best access to the city possible. It's quite a grand square and has many monuments and fountains, and it's home to El Corte Ingles, the famous department store. You'll find more shops on the Passeig de Gracia, as well as beautiful examples of Art Nouveau architecture. Las Ramblas is a lively street with many cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as more shops, and it's a great place to spend some time, enjoying the street performances and people watching. There are several bus and metro stations here, so if you're travelling for business, it's easy to reach other parts of the city.
